Summary

One of the greatest and most powerful dramas of all time, King Lear is the ultimate family drama told against a background of intense political intrigue. Lear, an aging monarch, has decided to divide his kingdom between his three daughters – each to receive land and wealth in proportion to their declaration of love for him. Two of them compete to flatter their father, while the one loving daughter, Cordelia, refuses to play the game and is exiled. Seduced by his daughters flattery, Lear sets in motion a catastrophic series of events that will destroy his kingdom, his family and ultimately his sanity.
